Your statements concerning men like Alexi Leonov, Ed White and many, many others are very true. Anyone who rides up to orbit and then opens the hatch to venture outside with their lives literally "on the line" is made of better stuff than the average. Astronauts, by the norm, are very intellegent and incredably dedicated. That combination is becoming increasingly hard to find.

No wonder the Soviets didn't whistle blow the faked Apollo missions. This unrealistic footage is worse than the crap NASA gave us. Look at the double shadow around his shoulder, the black outline around him like a composited image. It looks worse than the Rancor attacking Luke Skywalker. And no slowed down footage of being in space? Instead his arms are moving like a sped up 1920's movie.

ronace ed white was second. No man had been in space walk till Leonov did it. So no one knew what to expect, how to feel. First means a lot in a case like that :)
